Is there Hope for Pinoy Politics?

Today is Gat Andre's Day in the Philippines. I remember way back, November 30 was always declared as a holiday. Since it isn't commemorated here [I'm sure they don't even know he ever existed], I did my little research on him over the internet just to get the feel of it. I've been learning about his heroism in school ever since I can remember, but it's such a shame that I don't really know him at all. All I can remember was that he was some sort of a leader of the Katipuneros during the Spanish colonization era. So who really is Andres Bonifacio? Why does he have a special day?
Andres is known as "Kuya," for he took the place of his father and mother to his siblings when their parents died. He wrote the "Kartilya."
He was the brain of the famous Himagsikan, the one associated with "K.K.K." that is usually written over red cloth, which can always be seen during annual "Linggo ng Wika" celebrations. He was also known as Supremo.
He left two big questions. It is whether he was supposed to be the first president of the Philippines, or if he should become the real national hero rather than Jose Rizal.
He was taken out from the Philippine currency.
He struggled to save the Philippines.
And he, who was killed brutally and unjust.
Andres, was truly a hero. Thanks to my effortless research, I finally understood how big of a deal he was and how sad it is that Filipinos don't really give him the importance and recognition he deserves. And for you people who don't even care, think again. He contributed to our country's freedom and pride. Thanks to this hero, you don't have any classes for today. That's how special he was. I think it's time we get to know all our heroes and be grateful.

I watched about Mr. Boni on youtube, too and came across the I-witness 3-part special on him. The last part caught my attention and trust me, I thought it's a serious matter. It was about the history of the Philippine's Politics. It was stated that the first ever elections for president was cheated. That means, long long before, we already had problems on voting results. Poor "Inang Bayan." Although I'm not into politics, it saddens me to think about how she is continually harassed by unfair and greedy politicians. When will it ever stop? Hear for yourself.

So the question is? Will there ever be hope for the chaotic, crazy, messy, and sad to say bloody Pinoy politics?

salamat!
